Practical Pulmonary Pathology: A Diagnostic Approach

The first chapter is a visual index to diagnosis: charts identifying a general pattern (e.g. acute lung injury, fibrosis, chronic cellular infiltrates, alveolar filling, nodules, near normal biopsy), images of tissue sections, listings of diseases to be considered and of additional findings and diagnostic considerations—all keyed to relevant chapters and pages where the text will offer explication. Following are 20 chapters beginning with lung anatomy and continuing with optimal processing of lung specimens, basic pulmonary radiology, developmental and pediatric lung disease, and various carcinomas, tumors, lesions, and conditions. A section of miscellaneous distinctive histopathologic findings is appended. Editors Leslie (Mayo Clinic Scottsdale) and Wick (U. of Virginia Medical Center) have shaped work from 26 contributors.
