Crash Course: History and Examination

This book first guides you through taking a patient history, discussing the general aims and principles and how to go about eliciting information from the patient. It goes on to consider history taking within the context of the presenting complaint, with differential diagnoses algorithms and key pointers to consider for each body system. Part II covers examination in a similar way: general techniques first and then by body system, looking at the examination routine and key signs for each. There are also sections on clerking your patient and on further investigations. MCQs, SAQs, EMQs, OSCEs and essay questions make up Part III allowing you to assess your progress and test your exam performance.
